Dr. S. M. Kantikar is a pathologist by training and a renowned legal scholar who obtained his PhD in law from
NLSIU, Bangalore. He has been honoured with the "Karnataka Rajyotsava Award-2021,”. Dr Kantikar served as
Member of National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC), where he decided over 1000 cases of
medical malpractice underscoring his commitment to justice. He served the Commission for 10 years before
superannuation.
